Goodman Lantern is pleased to announce that it has been named one of the Top 50 Fastest Growing Businesses in Sussex.

The awards were arranged and handed out by the highly regarded business specialised law firm, Acumen Business Law. As a leading specialist in the field, Acumen Business Law saw fit to honour and recognise top companies in the Sussex area.

“As a relatively young company, we are delighted to receive this prestigious award,” says Raj Goodman Anand, CEO of Goodman Lantern. “We worked tirelessly over the past seven years to build Goodman Lantern into what it is today. This recognition is an honour, and it means the world to us. It proves that our hard work is paying off.”

There Was Some Tough Competition

Goodman Lantern is a native-English content marketing and content writing agency. This industry is currently booming as more businesses rely on content as part of their marketing strategy. As such, being recognised as a top-performing and one of the fastest growing businesses is no easy feat.

“We realise the stiff competition that we face within this space,” says Anand. “But, we have an amazing team at Goodman Lantern. Together, we are dedicated to delivering outstanding work for our clients and customers. It’s this work ethic that ensures we rise above our competitors in the field.”

This Past Year Has Been Tough

No one is going to deny that 2020 was a tough year for all businesses. COVID-19 resulted in the loss of many jobs and saw a number of businesses close their doors. Goodman Lantern was able to buck this trend and thrive as one of the fastest growing businesses during this time, thanks to the hard work and dedication of its management and staff. It is one of the reasons the company received this honour.

Anand explains, “Many companies cut budgets across the board over the past year. They spent less on advertising and traditional marketing. But this is where we saw an opportunity. Businesses still need marketing, and content marketing is becoming increasingly important. It’s also more cost-effective than traditional marketing. So, we used this tough year to really highlight the impact and benefits of content marketing, which resulted in positive growth for our business.”

It’s Been a Long Journey to Success

Success for Goodman Lantern did not happen overnight. It’s been a long and hard-earned journey to see the fruits of their labour.

“It has honestly taken decades of hard work and many failures to grow into a company that is recognised for its achievements,” explains Anand. “I used to have a very different view of success. I had no work-life balance before Goodman Lantern, and I hopped on and off flights almost daily. In a single year, I took over 280 flights because I thought that face-to-face meetings were crucial in the success of a business. But with Goodman Lantern as a remote-first business, I have found the opposite to be true.”

Success Has Always Been About Putting People First

“We really have our team to thank for this success,” Anand says. “Without them, we would not be able to win awards. It’s been important for us to always value the people we work with. We put our people before profits every step of the way.”

Anand and his team have onboarded staff from around the world. As a result, part of the team’s success has been a consistent effort by management to make the company feel like a family.

“We always want our employees to feel like they are part of the Goodman Lantern family – whether they work full-time or part-time. I know that unhappy team members cause productivity to suffer, which affects the business. We do regular check-ins to ensure everyone is happy and that they have all that they need to deliver top quality work consistently.”

Goodman Lantern also maintains a culture of trust in its employees. The company does not micromanage but instead leave employees to manage their own time.

A Heartfelt ‘Thank You’

“We could not have done this without the support of our customers, clients and, of course, the Goodman Lantern team,” says Anand.

“On behalf of the management of our company, I would like to thank everyone involved in getting us here. I would also like to thank Acumen Business Law for the recognition. As a business, we aim to continuously grow, evolve and adapt to an ever-changing industry. And we hope to take everyone along for the ride with us,” Anand notes.

Something To Look Forward to

Due to current restrictions, there was no in-person award ceremony. However, award recipients received their certificates via post, a shoutout on social media and can meet with the team face-to-face when it is safe to do so.

“We are thrilled about this award. It means a lot to us, and even though we can’t receive it in person, it doesn’t take any of the sense of achievement away from us. While we would have certainly enjoyed meeting with other award winners, nominees and industry peers, we are delighted to receive this honour. We look forward to a meeting with Acumen Business Law in person when the national lockdown ends,” Anand adds.

“We will continue to work hard and do all that we can to be one of the fastest-growing businesses and the best content writing and content marketing agency in Sussex and beyond,” he concludes.
