As the founder and CEO of Goodman Lantern, I recently joined and completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses UK programme.
This programme is designed to bring together 10,000 small businesses experiencing high growth. It provides them with quality practical advice and support over a few days.
Launched in 2010 to address the support gap for small businesses, the programme focuses on helping SMEs unlock their economic and job-creation potential. It’s designed by leading professionals and run in partnership with Saïd Business School, Oxford University, and the Aston Centre for Growth at Aston University.
Several small business leaders from various industries came together to network and learn from their peers during this truly inspirational event.
Small Businesses Are the Future
Small businesses help drive the UK economy by creating jobs, encouraging innovation, and broadening markets. Goodman Lantern is proud to be an organisation that contributes to job creation, especially for women.
My goal has always been for Goodman Lantern to be a champion for change. My team and I believe in women’s empowerment in the marketing and technology sector. Our social responsibility, we believe, is to drive gender parity and also create reliable income opportunities for women across the globe.
GS 10KSMB Helped Us Visualise Our Goals
The programme was incredibly valuable, as it provided a platform to meet other inspirational business owners. It also helped me to discover areas where we could improve.
GS 10KSMB has further bolstered my mission to become the largest employer of women by 2030.
Thank You for Your Support
Thank you and congratulations to Goldman Sachs for organising the program and bringing in a phenomenal range of experts who imparted their knowledge.
I met many incredible people along the way, but I’d like to thank my growth group in particular. I really enjoyed this journey with you, James Howells, Katrina Cliffe, Dave Radley, Ruth Warren and Stuart Ross. A special thank you, also, to our fantastic cohort lead, Andrew Thomas.
I can’t wait to see the positive change that will result from what I’ve learnt during the programme. Thanks again, everyone!
Are you a small business owner? What positive change would you like to see come your way?
