Our purpose in life is more than an endless pursuit of things. It’s more than chasing money and acquiring stuff we wish to have. It’s about making a difference in the lives of others. That’s what Goodman Lantern CEO and founder, Raj Goodman Anand believes.
Raj was recently interviewed by Michael Sherlock of the Shock Your Potential podcast. In this discussion, Raj speaks about how we should deliberately be looking for ways to better the lives of others. In Raj’s professional capacity, this means impacting the lives of women by creating an environment in which they can thrive.
Raj is a firm believer in providing equal opportunities to women who wish to join the tech industry. Not only that, but he believes that in order for women to thrive in their careers and in the field of tech, there needs to be a flexible working environment. This means the option of remote working when needed and when necessary.
In this episode, Raj and Michael also touch on:
- Raj’s business journey
- How he got to where he is today
- The importance of providing opportunities for women in tech
In addition to being motivated by the unequal society that we live in, Raj notes that having a young daughter really drives the point home for him. He is now even more committed to ensuring a fair and equal society for women.
For years, Raj has been saying that he wants to set up a company where you can work from anywhere in the world. This not only benefits employees who require flexible hours, but it especially benefits women. Women, admittedly, still carry much of the household responsibilities and, in many regions, aren’t able to go into the business world for a number of reasons.
The host and guest also discuss:
- The importance of delegation
- Why hiring someone who shares your company values is important
- The amazing things that come from having a mission with such a valuable focus
Have a listen to the full episode to hear more about how Raj and, by extension, Goodman Lantern, makes a difference in the lives of all who work for the company.
